- Stress is the natural way of the body protecting process.
- The stress can be good or bad.
- Where stressors place on the body produces a positive effect it is called eustress.
- Where the stressors cause problems this is called distress which may lead to anxiety.
- Stress can either improve performance or halt performance due to over stress and anxiety.
Sources of stress include:
- personal experience
- support structures
- fitness
- skill level
- pressure from coaches and family
- spectators
- injury or illness
